Pelvic widening and tilt, and a changed lumbosacral angle, can irritate the sciatic and lower-back nerves. I came for postpartum recovery 7 weeks after having my second child, as well as treatment for left foot drop. I was feeling very weak and exhausted, and the care I received made a real difference in my recovery journey. This is the most common question we hear — and the honest answer is: once your OB has cleared you. As a general guide that's often around 6 weeks after a C-section and a little earlier after an uncomplicated vaginal birth, but every recovery is different, so we follow your provider's clearance first.

After birth the pelvis doesn't always settle back on its own.
